Ian
Aebel is an intellectual historian specializing in the history
of the early modern Atlantic world and the Western Hemisphere
since 1492. Having previously earned a B.A. and M.A. in
History from Blackburn College and Southern Illinois University
Edwardsville, Mr. Aebel will earn a Ph.D. in History and
an M.S.T. in College Teaching from the University of New
Hampshire in May 2011. His dissertation, "The Origins
of American History in the Early Modern English Atlantic
World," examines how the English wrote the history
of America on both sides of the Atlantic from 1485 to 1714.
