| Beth has been
in higher education for 12 years, currently as the Academic Dean and a member of
the business administration faculty at Colby-Sawyer College. Beth recently served
as the chair of the business department before stepping into the Dean’s office.
She teaches in the areas of Organizational Behavior, Human Resource Management,
Management, and Strategy. Conflict Management is a personal favorite and she hopes
to one day become a certified mediator.
Prior to teaching, Beth worked in retail banking for over 12 years and spent a year
in the senior management team of a local visiting nurse organization as the human
resource director. Beth has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from The College
of the Holy Cross in Worcester, an MBA from New Hampshire College, and a Ph.D. in
Organization and Management from Capella University.
Beth has worked with online
learners via GSC since the inception of the OIC many years ago; most often teaching
HR related courses.
Beth says about GSC: I really
appreciate working with adult learners who are actively employed in the trenches
of HR and management. It helps keep me fresh. I get the most updated information
via our discussions about what is really happening in HR practice
in different types of organizations. My discussions with GSC learners helps inform
me and my varied students of concepts that go beyond the textbook. I would have
a far more constrained perspective if it weren’t for all I learn from my online
participants!
