| Sue’s
experiences have led to a deeply held love of learning and a desire to spark that
interest in others, especially around math and science. She is delighted to be teaching
Business Statistics and math at Granite State.
For Sue, the opportunity to
develop new methods of sharing knowledge with learners is very exciting. “Business
Statistics is a challenging course for on-line learners, but self-discipline and
motivation will bring success. The efficiency and flexibility of on-line learning
really appeals to the industrial engineer in me.”
Sue holds a B.S. and a Master
of Engineering in Operations Research and Industrial Engineering from Cornell University.
She also earned her M.B.A. from Wichita State University. Sue has served in the
Air Force and was an Industrial Engineer for International Paper and Cessna Aircraft.
Her last corporate position was as a Supply Chain Manager for Lucent Technologies,
where she delivered supply chain training in the U.S. and the Netherlands.
After motherhood changed her
perspective on everything, she left the corporate world to become the Program Designer
for Parents Challenge, a private K-8 scholarship fund in Colorado. That led to homeschooling
her children, a calling that has consumed her time and energies for the last five
years. These years have been rich in educational and teaching opportunities, both
with her children and others at cooperatives she developed.
Sue lives in Strafford, NH with
her husband and two kids. During her free time, she loves to read, ski, bike, and
swing on the front porch.
