A
longtime Granite State College writing and humanities faculty member (1991-present),
Steve Hickoff teaches such courses as The Writing Process, Nature Writing and the
Environment, American Popular Culture, Expository Writing, and Sports Writing in
America. A full-time writer and author, he’s published books on fly-fishing,
wild turkeys, and the NFL’s Pittsburgh Steelers. His articles and columns
on sports, nature, and the outdoors appear regularly in such national publications
as Outdoor Life, among others, and regionally in the newspaper Foster’s Sunday
Citizen (Dover/Laconia, NH). In 2001 he won the College’s Distinguished Faculty
Award.
Hickoff lives in southern Maine with his wife, daughter, and their English
setters.
