Alan LaPenn is a Senior Software/Database Engineer at Lyrix in Lowell, MA. Prior to Lyrix, Alan was employed at Bell Laboratories for ~20 years, where he performed original research in computing technology, software and systems reliability modeling and, process automation. He has taught classes in programming using C, C++, shell, Unix OS and Systems Reliability modeling to engineers at AT&T, Lucent Technologies and Bell Laboratories.

Alan has a BS from Granite State College and a certificate in Oracle Database Administration from WPI.
