My name is Deb Nugent and I am an Instructional Designer with Fidelity Investments in Merrimack, NH. Prior to joining Fidelity in April of 2007, I was an Instructional Designer for Granite State College, working with faculty to design and develop courses using Blackboard.

I received my Masters in Adult Education with a specialty in Distance Education from the University of Phoenix Online (UOP). After completing my first course at UOP, I was hooked on e-learning! Even though I enjoy the face to face aspect of learning, the ability to work my schedule around my family made online learning the only feasible option for getting an advanced degree. I definitely believe that online learning is the wave of the present and the future. The students graduating from high school today will expect to use technology to their advantage as they continue their studies.

I am also the president of the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD-NH), an association that focuses on developing people who are passionate about learning in both the educational and corporate sectors.

In my spare time (what little there is of it!), I enjoy knitting, gardening and reading. I live in Dover, NH with my husband, daughter and three stepchildren.
