| Laurie
Quinn has taught college courses in literature and writing
at Boston College, UNH, and Granite State College respectively
during the past twenty years. Dr. Quinn has been a faculty
and staff member at GSC since 2004, and is presently Associate
Dean for Faculty and Curriculum. Previously she worked in
the public humanities as Senior Program Director at the
New Hampshire Humanities Council and in various academic
administrative roles. Laurie’s doctorate is in English
literature from UNH, where she focused on British literature,
women’s writing, and social class issues in literature;
her M.A. and B.A. degrees are from Boston College. Although
Laurie was herself a traditional-aged college student, she
is in the first generation of her family to complete a bachelor’s
degree, and her passion is teaching and learning in the
nontraditional higher education setting that Granite State
College exemplifies. Dr. Quinn’s pursuits include
serving as a program scholar for the national Literature
and Medicine: Humanities at the Heart of Health Care reading-discussion
program for medical professionals, and leading public book
discussions from time to time at libraries in New Hampshire
and Maine. She serves on the College Board’s English
Literature examination committee. Laurie lives in Dover,
NH with her husband and their young son.
