About Our Faculty

Micah Rubenstein graduated from Brown University, with a BA in Music. After graduate work at Indiana University’s School of Music in Composing, Conducting, Music Theory and Musicology, he taught music appreciation, theory and composition at Kenyon College for 14 years, serving for six of them as Chairman of the Music Department. He left academia in 1998 to become the Director of Marketing for an international non-profit publishing company in Stuttgart, Germany. In 2000, he was named Managing Editor of Wisdom Media Group, a television, radio and Internet broadcasting network, and subsequently left broadcasting to form his own consulting business. In 2005, he developed a radio series, The Message In Music, which has been broadcast throughout North America on Sirius Satellite Radio, as well as several terrestrial stations, including WKXL-AM in Concord, New Hampshire and WATD-FM on Boston’s South Shore. With this course at Granite State College, Micah returns to the “classroom,” and is thrilled to be teaching online, which, he says, “offers amazing opportunities for students and instructors to interact with each other in ways that traditional classes just don’t allow.”
