NH, and also provides consultative services to public health and non-profit agencies.
Prior to this, Fred spent over 35 years in official public health services, including
20 years as the Director of the Manchester, NH Health Department. In this position
he supervised a staff of over 70 employees in a variety of programs, including school
health, environmental health, dental health, and community health services. Fred

which provides services to over 1000 homeless individuals annually. He has been
a member of several non-profit agency boards, and governmental commissions.
Fred holds a BS in Environmental
Health from Colorado State University, and a Master of Public Health Degree from
the University of Minnesota. “It was at Colorado State University that I developed
my passion for public health. I was fortunate to have a few professors with prior
public health experience. They kindled my interest in improving the health of the
public through population based measures. This passion has grown, rather than waned,
over my career.”
Public health provides an excellent
vantage point to examine the US health system. Whereas medicine and health care
services are centered on the care of an individual, public health looks at the health
of the entire population. Health policies very often influence the overall health
of the public. Public health agencies are involved in the creation of health policies
at the federal, state and local level. Fred worked within the legislative and policy
arena for much of his career.
Fred and his wife, Margaret
have two grown children, both of whom are health care attorneys.
