George Wattendorf, JD

About Our Faculty

George has been teaching for GSL since the mid 1990’s as an adjunct instructor teaching criminal justice courses and paralegal courses at the Portsmouth, Rochester, and Concord centers. In 2005 he retired from the Dover NH Police department after a 21 year law enforcement career serving as a police officer and prosecutor. Since retiring, George has been in private practice in Durham NH. Geoge has a BA from Keene State College, and a JD from Franklin Pierce Law. In addition to his teaching experience as an adjunct instructor, George has developed and presented training curriculums for various criminal justice agencies on a state and national level.

"My teaching philosophy in adult education is that everyone in the classroom has something to teach and learn from each other. I see my role as a facilitator more than an lecturer, and rely on group discussions, debates, role plays, group exercises, and other learning activities to enhance the learning process and get the student involved. I have served as a trainer for most of my legal career on various legal topics and I try to incorporate that experience into my teaching style to insure that the student will develop knowledge and skills that can be applied to their chosen career whether it be law or some other profession in which the law plays a role."
