GSC Email Information

Logging into your GSC Email

Special Note: If you have not activated or logged into your GSC Email account within 60 days, you will need to contact GSC Technical Assistance Center to re-activate the account.
  1. Go to MyGranite (http://blackboard.granite.edu) and login. (You must be logged into the GSC portal to check your email.)
  2. Select the GSC Email link (left side of window in GSC Links on the MyGranite tab)
  3. Enter your ITID and password. (This is the same username and password you used to enter MyGranite)
  4. REMEMBER to leave the box checked on the login window: "Remember My Login Information for This Application", you will then be logged in automatically each time you access your GSC email.
  5. Click the Login button.

Address Book

The Address book is located in the left side menu under "Organizing". (click on the + sign next to Organizing to see it)

Adding a Contact:

  1. Select your Address Book
  2. On the top toolbar, select "Add"
  3. A new contact window will appear. Enter the contact information.
  4. Save (button on bottom of screen)

Importing an Address Book

  1. Select your Address Book (left menu)
  2. On the top toolbar, select "Import/Export" (The Import/Export window opens)
  3. Select the format of the source file
  4. Browse for and select your file.
  5. Click on the "Next" button
  6. Verify file information looks correct - click "Next"
  7. Match Fields by clicking on like fields in each list-"Add pair" then click "Next" HINT: You may want to adjust the fields in your file to conform to the options in the email program.
  8. Wait for the file to load. You will get a confirmation of success.

Message Handling

Composing/Sending Messages

  1. Select Mail, then Compose from the left side menu (Message Composition window opens)
  2. Enter email addresses. You can type the address in or select it from your Address Book. If you are sending to multiple addresses, enter a comma between email addresses.
  3. Compose message and send.

Deleting Messages

  1. Select the checkbox in front of the message to be deleted
  2. Select "Delete" from the menu located in the inbox window

Forwarding Messages

  1. Select the checkbox in front of the message to be forwarded Or open the message
  2. Select "Forward" from the menu located in the inbox window.
  3. Enter address of recipient
  4. Add a message if desired
  5. Select "Send Message".

Forward Your GSC Email to a Different Email Address

  1. Go to: https://webmail.unh.edu/cisunix/emailforward.html
  2. Select "Start forwarding your CIS Unix e-mail elsewhere."
  3. Fill in the form provided with your CIS Unix username and password (this is the same as your MyGranite ITID and password)
  4. Fill in the email address where you want your messages forwarded.
  5. If information is correct, select "Set Forwarding". You should get a status page indicating success.
  6. To change the forwarding address or cancel email forwarding, repeat the steps above, selecting the appropriate action to be taken.

Using a Spam Filter on Your GSC Email

  1. Go to: https://webmail.unh.edu/cisunix/spamfilter.html
  2. Select Start spam filtering of your CIS Unix e-mail.
  3. Read the information/instructions provided.
  4. Fill in your ITID and password
  5. Select Start Spam Filtering

Setting up an Auto Reply Vacation Message

  1. Go to: https://webmail.unh.edu/cisunix/vacation.html
  2. Select "Set up an automatic response to people who send you mail."
  3. Complete the form provided, including your message.
  4. Select "Start Auto-Reply".
